Starflake Book!

Here I have adapted the Star Book to make a Snowflake, hence the Starflake name!!!!  My new Christmas Cuttlebug collection helped give this book a frosty feel, but of course you could make it in lovely bright Christmas colours and make it like decorations hanging from a tree.

Cut 5 pieces of card 10 x 5 cm

Fold all the piece of card in half to make 5 x 5 cm folded squares.

Cut 5 pieces of card 11 x 5 cm, and fold in half.  Put double sided sticky tape on the outside 4 edges of one outer side, so when the card is opened out it looks like this;

You are now going to join the 5 background cards together, the side without the double sided tape going against the side of the next card which does have double sided tape.

Do this until you have the 5 cards stacked on top of each other.

This  is going to sit inside the background page like this.

Open the book out, and carefully line up and attach the inside W shaped card with the outside edge of the background.

Turn the card round and line up the other side and attach.  Repeat this with all 5 pages.

Cut two 5 x 5.5 cm pieces of card for the covers, decorate and attach them.

Close the book, and put double sided tape on the outer side that doesn’t have it yet.  Adhere a ribbon to one of the outer sides for tying the book.  Take the backing off the double sided tape, and attach the cover.   Turn the book over, and attach the ribbon in the same way.

On the folded edge, cut two lines 2.5 cm long, 0.75 cm in from edge as shown.

Push the top and bottom cut sections into the card so that it looks like this;

If you are going to hang embellishments punch a small hole here to hang embellishments from.

Put one piece of double sided tape down along the back outside edge of both sides of the back as shown.
